As title says - what other newer games have you tried recently and what are your impressions/short review of those?
I'll start:
Lost Planet 3:
I had played the first game in the franchise, and, whilst it was fun to a point, i never finished it, as i didn't enjoy it that much, so i was quite reluctant about even getting into this one. Ended up being pleasantly surprised as this game is quite a bit of fun 3rd person shooter. There are a few irritating things about it (such as the pretty poor cover system), but i enjoyed it quite a bit, completing the entire campaign (+sidequests and a lot of other completionist stuff) on hard. Good stuff.
Agarest: Generations of War:
It's... anime... /uninstall
Alien Rage: Unlimited:
A somewhat average, but potentially fun first person shooter. Sadly, it is terribly optimized and wouldn't run decently on my system even on the lowest settings.
Legends of Aethereus:
Probably intended as some sort of MMO. Story sounds like something a boring 10 year would come up with, everything generally looks ugly as fuck and the combat is super lame. I don't understand why this exists.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow:
A 3rd person slasher. Might be fun, might be not, it failed to really draw me in, so i got bored with it after a couple of levels.
Rise of Venice:
A trading simulator. It's okay'ish, but i feel it's just too shallow to keep attention for more than an evening or two. Almost feels like a smartphone/tablet game.
Demonicon:
A 3rd person action-RPG. Has some flaws, but i was quickly drawn into it. Reminds me a lot of Witcher, except the combat is a 3rd person slasher with some magic inbetween. Finished on hard with all the sidequests done, had good fun. If you liked the first Witcher, you will probably like this one as well.
