It's only fun if everyone has mics and knows what their doing. Otherwise the monster will win everytime

It will be as good as Left for Dead Versus gamemode for sure.
And there is still a lot of content to be released.

The only problem I see right now is optimisation (I have a good PC and stutters on low/off), but then it was only an alpha.

I'd say it's more like Bordercrap (in terms of the experience being superior playing with friends). Playing with pubbies is possible and fun in L4D series. In Evolve it's pretty hard.

But overall Evolve seems like an interesting game. Shame i dunt use mic.

Just played as the monster, it's difficult to escape em once the hunters are on your tail.

The entire game I had them on me, I was able to evolve to level 2. But i couldn't fin a chance to stop and eat enough small monsters to evolve and heal. Because they were literally right behind me.

Did give me a chance to ambush and kill a few of em everyone now and then, that was fun.  :D

I would put it down mostly on the fact that everyone's a newbie right now. With time passing everyone will know the basic and it certainly include teaming up and being aware.

Agreed, I've slaughtered Monsters within 3 minutes because they don't know what they're doing.

Ok changed me mind, now that I know how to cover your tracks. Playing monster is awesome.

Fun leading em on a goose chase, or pulling some epic ninja stealth!

Also bucket is OP awesome, support best class!

Yes, the fact that there is 0 tutorial in-game is principally detrimental to the monster class... They have much more gameplay depth to them than the human class (principally due to the fact that they can level up, are alone and can sneak about).

I got my share of 3-5mn round game, but I also had neat 20-30+ where we could not even spot the monster once until level 2, and epic endings near the power relay against a buffed up lvl 3 monster where its like 50-50 chance.
Still did not encounter a proper "ambush" monster once but I'm pretty sure they will be the most dangerous playstyle to go against... Most of the time when you lose track of the beast for 5+ minutes you spread up and thats when a monster can easily burst a human player or two before reinforcement arrives.

Picked this up now it's released. Got 4 friends together and is very good fun. Solo play is also not too bad if you like being the monster. Though I wouldn't suggest going too many randoms with hunters or quite often you end up all over the place complete separated.

Definitely enjoying this so far.

Lots of people going on about the DLC.

All maps will be free release and most of the DLC is skins. The game is a complete game. No pay2win stuff.

Honestly could not give a crap about skins and anyone who actually spends the money to buy that stuff is an idiot.

Wonder why everyone claims it's a genre revolution and stuff when it's just a coop shooter, right?
Seems more like Left4Dead Evolved or something... I don't get the hype.

The comparison to left4dead isn't really applicable. The similarities amount to a group of humans vs monster and that's about it.

There's an interesting leveling system which allows you to unlock more characters and monsters as well as abilities.

But yeah it's certainly not genre defining or anything like that. It's just a simple, good, fun co-op game. Me and my friends only bought it because we were tired of Payday, Dota ect and wanted something to tie us over until Killing Floor 2. I've been pleasantly surprised though at how intense it is.

Man this Polygon review is a load of shite:

'The problem here isn't just the time required to unlock each new character but also the process, which forces a set amount of usage of each character's skill, regardless of how useful they are at any given moment. The only practical way to really unlock everything is to play solo matches in specific modes to grind out masteries.'

I've already unlocked the second character for medic and the tier 1 skills after a grand total of about 10 matches. Amounts to only a few hours play. And the second tier of the 1st characters skills, whilst more specific to unlock, aren't anywhere near as bad as this review makes out. It's really not that fing hard and definitely doesn't need solo play.

I impression on reviews lately is that the cope them more towards the casual side of gaming.
Everything that requires even the slightest amount of grind is bad and stuff.

Fits that some EA boss said that their games are to hard to learn cuz it takes 2 hours to get into them...
