It seems (kind of just from looking) that in Vienna and Salzburg the market is pretty even.

thats because vienna and salzburg belong to the same kingdom, from what i understand on the forum page they have, each kingdom has a different marketplace, but the cities inside the kingdom have the same.
or maybe thats just what the developer has planned 
i think ill have to choose another career

Khan used the be the ruler of Duchy of Hollands, not sure why he abdicated and came to us. Probably motivated by our population. Please do try and not usurp count titles from our own (Milanese) guys.

The market is global currently, but Chris (the main dev) said that localized markets are planned.

PS: Being a count isn't really a big deal, you only get a small portion of gold when the tax is collected in that province.

Yeah voting is only for the rulers/pope. For usurping count titles you only need to have the claim power:

(your level/5 + nobility*2 + politics + culture bonus + 30 / (number of claims of this priority or higher - free claims * levelmodifier)) + size of your mansion in this province * 4

The more count titles you have, the harder it is to usurp new ones or keep old ones.

Stamina doesn't have any effect on usurping Well as long as the count positions are in Milanese hands means that our kingdom is getting the gold (and not the count's foreign kingdom), that's the important bit.

Not sure but maybe the ruler can spend it on upgrades / weapons for the army, dunno.
