Amazingly, the game seems to have even worse mechanics/movement than DayZ.

Also (related to this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9K6cv--warY#t=2439):
Quote from: Adam Clegg
I wanted to address what I said in an earlier stream with NGTZombies prior to our release. I said you cannot buy a gun or ammo and it had to be found in the world. When you are on a stream, and you are talking about your game, you tend to talk a million miles an hour both to keep the information flowing and to keep it entertaining. But sometimes things get said without completely thinking about what you are saying 100% through. H1Z1 is a massive game with a lot of systems, some of which we were tuning every day and finishing last minute. When I said you can't buy any guns or ammo, I completely disregarded the possibility of airdrops and meant that you can't buy a gun or ammo and have it go into your starting loadout, or your loadout immediately like you were buying a gun from the gun store.

All that being said, I totally understand how what I said was at the time lying to you guys and I apologize. But please understand that's not what I was trying to do. For those of you that don't know me or understand me, know that I'm not trying to be this monster that is conniving and lying in hopes that you get tricked into buying the game. I am very passionate about making video games and I want more than anything in the world for people to love the games that I am a part of making.

What creative thinkers. I hope that guy isn't their actual lore writer, because if that's what he comes up with. "Uhm, yeah, there's like, totes, a military base that, like, sends out planes to drop you, like, supplies and, like, stuff, randomly."
Meaning lies as much
in the mind of the reader
as in the Haiku.

Well the possibility to pay for airdrops with station cash was done before they even explained where players get them from in the first place.

Typical

Just watched a short Let's Play from a German magazine and the verdict was bad, like really bad.

Main point was that there barely is any loot in the world and they said that people die from starvation way more often than  by interaction with other players. This gives even more power to those silly air drops.
Zombies are completely stupid, AI sometimes not even functioning.

And a bunch of other minor things...

They clearly said "Hands off! Save those 20 bucks! It's crap atm!" :o

Overheard in the office "Well that would explain why loot wasn't spawning in containers" - @Kalyper Sounds like we found the fix.

God dammit SOE, had me exited at Galaxies, and you bring out a fucking zombie game?

This.. I was expecting some sci fi mmo thing... not a copycat version of dayz.

It might be awesome but how the hell do you say with a straight face that its for SWG players then turn around and its zombie survival? What the hell?

Well aside from the uproar about the devs which I was pretty disappointed with because I had been following the game's development and had hopes for it.

I mean, its a fun game. Every single person who I actually know who has played it has really enjoyed it, though none of them have been following the development and been promised things by the devs nor had any idea about the controversy.

So its not worth 20$? don't spend 20$ Afraid it might not be worth 20$? don't spend 20$. It will be free anyway, any free game you enjoy for more than an hour is worth it because it didn't cost you anything.

I'd be more concerned about hackers and bad anti-hack software as its a free to play game in a genre that hackers love.

I am renaming the game to H3Z0.

I spent an hour in game on Friday after being able to finally log in a day and a half later.

During said time I explored several cut and paste buildings and vehicles. Also I ran into:

1 deer that ran away when I tried to punch it for food. It didn't kill me awesome. H0D0

1 bear that attacked me when I stood in its face but stopped when I moved away. Did that 3 times bear wasted me after the 3rd.- H0B1

1 zombie that attacked me when my menu screen was up, hit me 3 times, I closed the menu and ran away unscathed.- H0Z0

6 players, 3 of which killed me, 2 of which killed me with ranged weapons, 1 had a gun, the other a bow which I did fine hiding behind a tree til the guy got into melee range(was like 2-3 feet away) and I charged him and was on him with a machete but no swing hit yet he 1 shot me point blank with a bow but my point blank melee swings did nothing).- H0H3

Its not much of a zombie survival game but more of a human survival game.

as he said it's a human survival comic mmotfsg (massive multiplayer total bundle of sticksry social game).

this evening i was searching for some super super rare funky hats in some rich houses while i opening a door...
...you could tell me : "Yes , soo?"

Well that door opened the Mystic Void of bundle of sticksry and i coudn't escape from that shit.
You ask : "Why?"
Because devs are such ignorant pricks and they set (like arrows) the holes in the door (decals) to static and colliding with the player.
So basically i was stuck in a 1mx1m room (quite nice white room) and couldn't exit because i punched the door and holes filled the space.
So i raged , started to shoot all my 67 arrows into the void of bundle of sticksry , closed  myself in , asked for help and waited with a ligher equipped.
Someone helped me shooting in my head through the door , he said he was sorry and that he would die , he was so gentle , so i asked him to loot all my stuff.
He entered the Void Of bundle of sticksry , i laughed with him , he stated that the room was his own now , closed the door and GG , end of the story.
67/10 would bang that door again.
