I always say "Sorry" when I mean "Excuse me" because in german both is "Entschuldigung, ...".

One that annoyed me big time when I first moved into England was "excited". In Spanish it almost always means sexually in the mood, whereas in English it doesn't. So people would say "I'm so excited about that movie" and in my mind I would think of some completely different type of movie...

There are tons of these... (deception, embarrassment, constipated, carpet, billion vs trillion (or thousand millions), etc)

When ever i hear "terrific" i just think of something bad automatically and my brain can't accept it's something good. Maybe because it sounds like terrible and horrific combined

In fairness when I usually hear that it is said with sarcasm. So more often than not it is something bad after all  :P

Ho yeah and in UK english, a school owned by a private company for profit is called a public school, because fuck logic yo

I'm English and this confused me for years lol

Also the meaning of "ironic" is still unclear to me. In french it's usually coincidences that are called "ironique" when bad things happen. Like the actor of Fast and Furious dying in a car accident.

I confuse with internet memes which you spell like "mems" , because meme means "boobs" in Turkish, so when someone sends me a link saying "have you seen this meme?" I am getting confused... D:
