Warcraft 3 was an abomination. Warcraft 1 and 2 were epic RTS games. Warcraft three introduced some fucked up 3D and Hero concepts. Will always be one of my most hated games for destroying an epic series

Judging by my steam list at the moment, it's probably Rust and/or Starbound.

However, I think Europa Universalis, Crusader Kings, and other games are perennially popular with this playerbase. ARMA II is up there, as well. DotA II and LoL.

I agree with both of you, Warcraft 3 was a bad RTS (fucking winner's ball with no chance to rebound, first skirmish decided the game), but the mod support IS great, and there were a lot of fun custom maps like tower defense or dota and so on.

Civilization V - Only new game that managed to get me hooked
Football Manager games - Never gets old. Fun to play a bit, once in a while.
Heroes of Might and Magic III - Still legendary to this day!
Path of Exile (without desyncs )
Red Alert 1 - Story mode still great
Doom95 and Heretic - Pure gold

Supreme Commander Forged Alliance is the best RTS I have played, having a blast with that now. Apart from that there is always Total War and Europa Universalis that every half a year gets me excited to play them for a dozen hours, but that is pretty much it. Games don't entertain me like they used to, which is not that much of an issue.
