Makes sense it would see you being from that area of the the US if you're from England. I've heard people speak who grew up in NY, but moved to Boston for years, come to where I live and they sound like they are English
Yeah some of the questions are weird. I've never heard of a drive through liquor store, and we don't have a name for the day before halloween where I'm from. In a lot of places in the country on a suburban street, it will be road, then a strip of grass, then a sidewalk, and then the grass in the main part of your yard. We never had a name for that little strip of grass.
The first 15 or 30 feet in your yard (at least in the state I live in) is called the easement, and the city technically owns it, even if you are responsible for the upkeep.
