Never played the first KF, but it doesn't look too appealing to me. It's basically one big massacre shooterfest, just a bunch of running around, dodging and shooting at these creatures coming at you. I don't see any strategy or positioning put into fights like these.

For me, I don't think anything will trump Zombie Panic! Source mod for HL2. Even the new game from the devs of ZP! mod is worse.

Basically, it's a game like L4D2, but the only way to survive there is to kill literally everything. Also, the first one was hard as hell, the boss (called the patriarch) spawns with a minigun, a rocket launcher, can heal three times, spawns a few monsters,  and become invisible when he needs to hide (not OP at all, uh). And you fight it if you manage to survive the whole 4/7/10 waves depending of the lenght of the game. It's a shooterfest, but you also get murdered brutally if your team and you don't play well.

Yeah I loved Killing Floor even though it was pretty basic, this one looks like good fun too. It's shallow in depth where actual objectives are but that helps with it being a game you can just pick up and play if you want just want to fuck things up for an hour, it's very fun for sure and it does have the RPG aspect of leveling up classes and buying better stuff to use during the matches.

Looks like they've chosen to stay with the simple yet fun design, and not dared to make too many major changes, which is good. KF1 to me was basically a quick pick up and play with friends for some fun and challenging gameplay, while having a small grind appeal (i like grind, it keeps me playing games longer than i otherwise would), and great music+voice acting. So far it does look like KF2 kept all those but added more variety to the crazy weaponry while also made them more enjoyable to fire. Oh and also the upgraded graphics with added gore galore.

Looking forward to playing this.
