Recent 1h and polearm stab tweaks made them the best animation available to these classes in most situations. They now function much like the 2h stab has always done, able to deal high damage until the arse end of the animation, but the OP ness of the 2h stab animation caused that stab damage values are usually in the 24-28 range, whereas polearm and 1h still have a lot of stabs with 30+ pierce.
There is barely any point in using other weapons than awlpikes or sideswords because the stabs are so fucking sweet. Latest patch tried to balance this out by changing stats of popular stab weapons, which is the wrong way of correcting for an overbuff of the animation. It is not only a problem that these stabs deal too much damage, it is also fucking frustrating to have everyone walking around with a lightning fast, accurate and ridiculous reach attack. What should be done is a partial revert of the 1h stab animation buff, a revert of the polearm stab animation buff and a slight nerf for the 2h stab animation.
1h stab was crap, polearm stab was strong enough, 2h stab was too good. Equalize at polearm level, not at 2h level.
