Katana have high speed and good cut but short range and shitty stab, is also expensive and way worse on battlefield than longsword

Bastard sword is preatty much 1h weapon with longer grip(I will not go in to history of that weapon) but if we change it to 1h mode the same way Langes messer changes:

following that pathe we get good 1h weapon with really low upkeep prize
at that point I can agree that it would be to cheap weapon.

If we leave that weapon in 2h 2 slot tier that prize is good(in my opinion)
If we could make it 1h/2h weapon with no penalties and stat transfer similar to Langes messer prize is way to low, and maybe require some speed tweak.
If we make that weapon 1 slot maybe we should increase upkeep  a bit to

First of all archers and xbowers have access to 0 slot 1h weapons with 30+ pierce dmg that combined with high agi and weapon speed can be really deadly

The langes is already a great 2h weapon... it is like carrying a pocket longsword with an arb. I would argue that the polearm stab for it is even better than the regular 2h stab since it is much less likely to glance at close range with low power strike and the animation hides the sword under the body too. But giving a bastard sword to arbalest users would be gamebreaking because of how unbelievably good it is. I would not mind making 1 slot 2hers, but they would need to be MUCH slower to FORCE xbowmen to make a choice between more xbow proficiency or more 2h proficiency. If they made the bastard sword 1 slot, you would see a lot of xbowmen choose xbow proficiency due to the bastard swords fast speed. But give them a slower 2h and they would be forced to dump wpf into 2h to use it effectively (if they use it at all).

Being able to use a katana or bastard sword with an arbalest + quiver of bolts (or bow and arrow) is a fucking dumb idea.  You need to give up the better weapons (2 slot) if you want to use a crossbow or bow.  You might as well ask for devs to remove the slot system.  Just dumb.  Don't be that guy.

Learn to play devil's advocate, it will get you far in life.

2 slot (not 2h) melee weapon + bow and arrows is not a reality   IMO being able to pick up another 2h that's 2 slots is a big advantage to having 2h WPF and using a 1 slot 2h weapon.

For almost half the price, the bastard sword has 1 more cut, 1 more speed, 9 more length, 1 less pierce but a much longer thrust compared to a 2h mode langes messer. Langes Messer might be a good 1h weapon as well, but call this balanced and I won't take you seriously.

Langes Messer is a good choice compared to other 1 slot 2h weapons like mace, military sickle and fighting axe, all those weapons being relatively well balanced with each other.

Exactly.  Hilt slash but no lolstab is at least kind of gimped.

Most bows are only one slot.  You can use a horn bow, one stack of arrows and any 2h but a great maul.  Neux did it all the time with a horn now and miaodao.
