Playaing the first Witcher now, really digging the story and the world, you might like it.

Mass Effect to me has an awesome world to play around in especially the second part.
And now he can't play because of "common sense" and he doesn't understand how this common sense works

I might give The Witcher a try.

I'm not that big of a fan of the Metro games or the Mass Effect games, call me picky if you will, but I just couldn't get into them.

I would also like to avoid using Origin at all costs, I've had enough with that POS.

Origin needs to burn in hell, but nothing is worse than Microsoft LIVE.

Anyhoo, Spec Ops: The Line was an amazing game. I mean, the gameplay is nothing to write home about on it's own, but as a whole, man, I think that's the first single-player game that had trouble tearing myself away from in years. It had me in it's grips for every second. EVERY SECOND.

Dishonored was alright. The Witcher 2 was like Elder Scrolls meets Assassin's Creed melee with a writer.

I've heard quite a bit about Spec Ops, I'll probably pick it up next time I've got the money.

Dishonored kinda interests me, not too much though.  I like the theme, but I've heard that the gameplay is pretty mediocre.  But I'll probably look into trying it out as well, thanks for the suggestions!

The Walking Dead with Lee and Clementine. I can't wait for the next story to come out. I got The Walking Dead: 400 days, but it was like seeing a small glimpse inside a strip club instead of full on getting laid

The gameplay is actually pretty cool, if you don't use certain skills (look through walls and teleport). It's also pretty cool that you can complete it without killing anybody.

Inquisitor, a great RPG gem imo that many people might have missed. It's a old-school style Czech RPG that was released a few years ago and recently had it's English translation finished. The main emphasis is on story though and there is A LOT of reading and dialogue so if that is not your thing you might want to stay away from it.

from what i saw, that final fantasy 7 re-release looks quite crap, only thing updated about graphics is resolution.
might be worthwhile if you dl some graphics mods. [note: i am not graphics whore, but seeing a game from 1997 released on steam with absolutely no graphical upgrade besides higher resolution and some pixel cleaning for 11 euros seems like cash milking to me]

still waiting for x, and x-2 to be released on pc...

When has square-enix ever not been about cash milking... hmm?

It's not an amazing graphics difference, you're right its mostly resolution and some minor tweaking... but it affects every unit/boss/character in the battle scenes. Unlike the mods I've seen.
But even though it's relatively minor tweaking... IMO it makes a huge difference. I bought the PS1 version on my PS3 and then pirated the new graphics one on PC... and for me it is definitely a big enough reason to start over on PC and forget the PS1 Version I have dl'ed on my ps3.

But really, nobody should be playing FF7 for the graphics, I just suggested he play it if he's never played/beaten the game before. It's a must play in my book, even after all these years.

square hasnt been cash milking until ffXIII imo. i know that nobody would play ff7 for graphics, but when they release it on steam for 11 euros, they could at least do something about those blocky limbs...

i agree he should try it but... i dunno man, the looks of this game can put some people off. btw is soundtrack still in midi? i absolutely hated when i dled a mod that changed all midi tracks to mp3...
