Warriors of the First Age – Not Just a Roleplay Clan Warriors of the First Age is a Tolkien (Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, and the Silmarillion) inspired clan
(This does NOT mean you have to be a "Tolkien Enthusiast" to seek membership, only that our theme and roleplay is drawn from such lore). Our goals are to create an atmosphere that nourishes a heroic spirit comparable to those great heroes and heroines of yore while at the same time valuing teamwork and comradery. We draw our primary inspiration and our banner from Fingolfin, High King of the Elves in Tolkien’s Silmarillion who was an exemplary example of heroism and steadfastness, a light against overwhelming darkness. The following link is an audio clip of an excerpt from the Silmarillion about Fingolfin.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cc6yzxcv0PsGet our name “Warriors of the First Age” also from the Silmarillion which took place in the First Age of Middle Earth (Lord of the Rings took place in the Third Age). For those who are unfamiliar with this area of Tolkien lore the battles and deeds that took place in the First Age far surpassed those portrayed in later days. We also wanted something that kept the flavor of our original idea, but allowed for folks who may not be Tolkien or fantasy nerds.
What we Offer:
Theme: Based on our Tolkien inspiration our current members are drawing on names of Elves, Men and Dwarves from Tolkien’s middle earth and incorporate some roleplaying aspects into our operations. This is not a mandatory requirement, but we do ask of those who join to be respectful to our chosen flavor and general atmosphere. That said, if you enjoy Tolkien, tales of old heroes and battles, medieval history, or other fantasy themes, books, games, etc., we’ll probably get along.
Battle: Although we are few in number at the moment we hope to grow our numbers enough to really develop a high level of teamwork together. If you want to join a clan where you know the other guys and gals have your back, give us a try. While we have a great appreciation for dedicated players, teamwork, and role-play, we are not serious all the time and enjoy those light-hearted moments too. What we are really after is a clan community with a good attitude and can give a good account of itself in battle or strat.
Tags: At the moment we have a provisional system of tags to help enhance the roleplaying component. Basically Noldor = high elves, Sindar = wood elves, Edain = humans, and Khazad = Dwarves. While not mandatory, we do enjoy the roleplaying aspect this reinforces certain types of characters. Example: hypothetical WFA_Khazad_Gloin enjoys wearing bulky armor and using two handed axes and hammers to crush his foes, whereas WFA_Sindar_Aelfwine enjoys precision archery with a longbow and relies on a 1h weapon and light armor in melee. Again, not necessarily mandatory, but can be fun and why not?
Long Term: We are currently involved in Stategus and trying to establish ourselves, but welcome good players whether they are mainly interested in Strategus, battle, DTV, or what have you.
In summary, we are looking for some good battles with players who can work together and have good attitudes. We do not want drama. Ultimately, we hope to make an honorable name for ourselves based on the actions of our players, great or small.
Values: - Honor
- Courage
- Loyalty
- Teamwork
- Sound TacticsWe are currently composed of only NA players but would be happy to work with any EU supporters.

The Lay of the Fall of Fingolfin by Finnian TiercelThe Lay of the The Fall of Fingolfin
"Fingolfin! My Lord! Whither do you ride?"
"To Morgoth! Hence do I ride!"
Then he rode onward, through flames and fire,
Ever onward, ever his wrath growing higher.
To the Dark Lord's grim abode,
Through wreck and ruin he rode.
To the menacing black gates he came,
Then he blew a blast from his horn so mighty that it broke asunder in shards of flame.
"MORGOTH! MORGOTH! MORGOTH!!!"
Morgoth heard the summons as he sat on his throne,
distraught was he and in his mind he did moan.
"MORGOTH! COME CRAVEN MORGOTH!"
The Dark Lord beheld his iron wrought crown,
Then in anger he swiftly cast it down.
The armies of Morgoth gathered there, a vast black hoard,
They trembled and quaked at the sight of the vengeful Elven Lord.
Clad was he in glistening plate and mail,
For their master, the foul servants did wail.
The Elven King's eyes blazed with white fire,
Morgoth's plight was dire.
Then suddenly the towering gates opened wide,
Morgoth emerged clad in black iron, thicker than dragon hide.
Full of dreaded wrath was the High Elven King,
Bright Ringil he drew, sounding a crystal ring.
Grond, Morgoth did bring to field,
A massive hammer, with ease did he wield.
He struck Fingolfin with mace, but the King's long shield was greater,
but again and again Grond struck, forming great craters.
And again and again Fingolfin dodged and leaped off to side.
Then Morgoth's swing missed and went wide.
Fingolfin darted forth, and Ringil cut deep,
Morgoth uttered a rending cry that could wake the stones from their sleep.
Seven times, Fingolfin in battle, smote his foe,
And seven times Morgoth, in agony cried out in woe.
But Morgoth was of a race that could not be slain,
And Morgoth was fated to be Fingolfin's bane.
And when the Elven King's strength was finaly spent,
Morgoth's heavy foot, to crush him, went.
And though his death was nigh,
For one last time he raised Ringil high,
And smote down upon Morgoth's foot,
Spilling foul blood, black as soot.
Ever after Morgoth went with a limp in his gait,
And he filled his mind even more with hate.
Yet ever after Morgoth feared the Elven Lords,
And he left all the battles to his great black hoard.
As for Fingolfin, the High Elven King,
He was carried aloft by Thorondir, the Eagle's wing.
Very far was he born out of shadow,
To a green mountain cairn, ever since made hallow...
