2h lolstab/polearm stab fix

Make it so that when the person is using a 2h stab the animation is fixed in a forward or backing motion only, you cannot swing the camera left or right, this would get rid of these lingering twist stabs for both polearm and 2h stabs.  This would make the retarded op stabbing a gamble and you would no longer see people doing 90 degree turns to stab.  You would also see less amounts of spinning long spear and pike action.  The fix doesnt have to be set to 0 degrees, but rather maybe 15-30 degrees each way similar to what the lance cav have already on horseback.

it was just an idea i had, which sounded good at the time, however it appears all its done is brought out everyone who likes to minus ur posts and never bring shit to the table, either that or they are 2h heroes.  Which is why kao is here, big douche btw.

Just to add to this, it seems everyone complains about it, but yet nobody ever has ideas as to how to fix it.  Everyone attempts to bring realism or historical accuracy, but when it comes down to it, you can only do so much, and this was an idea that maybe the devs or whomever could poke around with(pun intended) to see if it actually works.

I would rather just get the 1h stab turn rate uncapped, rather than gimping the polearm and 2h stab.

The 1h stab on most 1h is completely worthless against any high-ath, erratically moving opponent.

Changing the 2h stab would be fine with me. Not sure hitting the LS and Pike with a similar styled nerf would be a good idea, we already had to deal with the turn speed nerf and that cut down a lot on the spinning stabs. They still happen of course but they are much slower and pretty much a last resort or used when fighting swarms of enemies.

ya it would be nice if they lifted the cap, i actually sold my grosse messer because of it, i just couldnt take the fact that i couldnt spin anymore, and had to get a longer sword.  Also i meant this really as a generic way of nerfing the stab which could be used for 1h as well, though it doesnt seem to be as prominent of an issue with 1h.

You didn't bring anything to the table either. This exact thing has been suggested several times and we've even implemented toned down versions of this which have since then, been toned down even more! Your suggestion isn't even realistic. In the real world you can quite easily redirect the flow of your weapon while your body is still extending the full length of a thrust. Not as far as what is displayed in game currently, but certainly far enough to make this seem bizarre even from a realism standpoint, which is where most of these arguments generally originate.

 Post this in realism subtopic if that's your aim, comparing with reallife. We're talking about game balance here...

Discussion ? You're asking to "fix" something that is not especially broken. How does that ask for a discussion. A discussion start with : "what do you guys think about that. Please discuss." Not : "do this and that. The end."


Please make the youtube video though. Might be funny.

2H has a powerful animation, Spinning is not the problem but "sweetspot" timing

pike the slowest and is fine!

You're a biased 1hander with a bad idea and your thread got shit on, don't cry about it.

Your suggestion is REALLY bad by the way. It would suck out a ton of fun from this game. Fuck they had to walk back the turn speed restrictions earlier in this mods life because it was so bad (and imbalancing, many 2 directional polearms were trash) and at least its a bit better now.

The combat is already dumbed down too far, this would just make it even more dull.
I voted Gurnisson cause of his fucking bendy pike, I swear noone can roflcopter stab like he can.

It's funny, 1h gets nerfed, so does poles. Archery, cav and xbow gets nerfed. And 2h gets buffed in the process.

I agree with him. 2h needs a lol stab fix. I like the idea.

clearly the community cannot handle suggestions, so much butt hurt over a suggestion, yet the same thing was done to lance cavalry.......

It is broken, everyone knows its broken, and it has been broken since day one of warband.  It was complained about in native and continues to be a problem to this day.  The dev's attempted to fix the problem by blanket nerfing all spin speed which didnt really get rid of the problem, just made pike spins just a bit less.  I cant see how you dont see this unless....oh wait, must be a 2h im speaking to......clears things up a bit.

Then stating ive checked you all to see if you have used a pike before? well no of course not, however knowing the "average person" and readin forum posts, learning the community you play in, and then reading topics such as these ( http://forum.meleegaming.com/general-discussion/crpg-players-and-jobs/ ) concludes that i can more then likely say nobody here has used one.  As for "realism being my aim, i was throwing that out there at Tydeus' statement as he clearly has thrown pikes or swords about to know that his information is correct, he is a balancer after all he would know. 

The statement to the stab was based upon the 2h/polearms, but could be used for all the stabbing animations really, it was just a suggestion.  But as you can tell from our "lovely" community, nothing but shit spews from every persons mouth, even "game admins" the supposed holy grail of our cess pit of a gaming community.

Welp, at this point im goin to lock the thread up, no point in truly allowing more garbage in, the landfill is full.
