A bigger map?

If there's ever another version of strat, I'm curious what people would think about playing on a much larger map, something like this:

(click to show/hide)

Or would it be better to keep things the way they are now or even revert back to one map?

Also, if there was a larger map like pictured above, should it have all fiefs on every map like the current EU map or the same amount of EU/NA fiefs as now but spread out further?  Maybe a large section of the map reserved for a Chinese server as well?

A larger map, with the same troops gain, would mean smaller garrisons and possibly a less defensive meta game.

First we would need to be able to travel around the map as if it were a globe, enable traveling over water and naval battles, and new maps for battles that take place in the hills, tundra, forests, etc.
"As you gaze upon the cross, and long for conformity to him, be not weary or fearful because you cannot express in words what you seek. Ask him to plant the cross in your heart. Believe in him, the crucified and now living one, to dwell within you, and breathe his own mind there."

One benefit of more territory though, more people would be able to have their own fiefs so it'd give them something to do.  We'd see a greater variety of equipment during battles too if more people could loom/discount things they liked.  I'm sure a lot of the larger factions have people lose interest in strategus because there's nothing left for them to do on the map except troop farm once all the fiefs are doled out.

Also, having a bigger map could lead to more fluid wars with villages changing hands more often since they'll be harder to defend if you have to spread your troops around like Casimir mentioned.

EU 1, NA 1 are for mega factions. EU 2, NA 2 for smaller factions.

Pros :

- less stacking
- more overextension
- more landgrab opportunities

Cons :

- less tension
- less players traffic
- more travel time

I would prefer we deal with the stacking in other ways... the Cons are great and could give strategus a bland taste.

If we should have bigger maps they should imo not be mirrors of the regular map, but an entirely new map. WITH BOATS
1H stab is the fastest, strongest and longest 1H animation. There's no reason NOT to use it in all instances. I don't know if it's OP, but it's boring. 1H used to be fun because you had a fast (left), long (right) and the most devastating attack (stab) and had to choose the best attack for each occasion.

How about 1 map to each clan?

It seems more like smaller map = static trench warfare with troops piling up making castles/towns impossible to attack.

-------

I'm just saying that strategus is like a game of checkers right now, options for how you can play are very limited.  Increase the size of the world and we might see more fluid warfare, maneuvering and different dynamics since it'll be impossible for the same large factions to monopolize all the territory like they do every round.

With a larger map, people could go off into a distant corner and have the viking vs space samurai theme battles/wars they always wanted, other people who only want to fight wars against their friends where the battles all take place between 6 to 9pm PST could go off into another corner and play strat that way, etc etc.

If you like strategus the way it currently is and other people do as well, you could all stay in one map and keep on doing what you're doing but a larger map would give the rest of us the option to step outside that box.
