Tips/Build help for building light cav

I am trying to build a Polearm/Light Cav I want to be able to wield a decent pole-arm on the ground when horses aren't viable(shields not likely/necessary). But I am looking to find out how I should build my stats.

And aside from that how can I perfect my ability to hit people with my polearm when on horse back. I have seen alot of hate for couching unless the target is heavily armed, so I am just looking for general tips.

I think the general concenses will be put more points into 1h than polearm.  You only need 75-90'ish polearm to do some damage from horseback.

Keep targets on the right side of you, ver left away from the target and stab them with a big arc from lance

Don't listen to the dude who posted above me. Wpf is crucial to your damage, as well as your dismounted performance.

Anyways, I'd suggest going:
At lvl 31
18 Strength
18 Agility
6 Powerstrike
6 Ironflesh
3 Shield Skill
6 Riding
5 Weapon Master

I personally use the Heavy Lance and a Quarter staff as a sidearm. You can shift some points between skills.

Practice. There's really not that much to hitting people than getting your timing right, but here's just a few tips. Turn your horse to the left at the right moment and the lance to the right. This removes its head out of the range of enemy weapons. Play with your speed, you don't have to go top speed always. Top speed gives you more damage, but also the enemy when he hits you ... logically if you have hit the enemy heavily once, if you come at slow speed it will still be enough to kill him but if you get hit it's a far lower risk to be oneshotted, it also screws up timing.

The above build seems to focus too much on shield skill instead of ironflesh imo. While the build gets the message that powerstrike is more important than riding, I think with that low amount of health you will be very vulnerable.

I use Torp's build as far as stats go, except with 140 wpf in 1her and 70ish in polearm. Knightly heater, lance and espada (screw not having a proper sidearm). Huscarl when going pure shielder. Worked a couple of generations ago, still works post-patch. Gotta love functioning hybrids.

This is all good stuff thanks guys, I will have to consider but I think I am liking the torp build but I do agree with less shield skill and + iron flesh.

hmm mine is a bit better I guess, just take away that one poin from str and ath and put it into IF so you arent as bristle as a ninja...

Yes, our dueling sessions earlier today proved your build is far superior to Torps/mine.

18/18 is still the way to go if you want to be a true hybrid. Having 6 of every stat is just awesome.
