Anyways, i think the repair system needs a workaround..

There should just be a constant upkeep payment rate, fitted to what ever gear your wearing.

FX: Lets say your setup is a light kuyak heavy gauntlets with a barbutte an rus splinted greaves and a longsword.

You should pay 1/3 out of the total upkeep cost each round. That way people could have a more easy time setting up their loadout, while being able to get an idea of how much gear they can wear.

This randomness is a pain in the ass for people without shitload of looms keeping their wallet golden thx to the market place.

I fx is more or less immune to upkeep because i have 2 +3 items i can trade around with an get a steady income by the market.

Upkeep is only there to fuck over new players

Best suggestion would just be to completely remove it.... 50% of the gear in crpg dons t match the price tag it wears...

Take fx. the longsword is dirt cheap but super effective while a heavy lance is expensive an completely useless..

Come up with something else people could use their gold on instead of random upkeep ticks... Also worth to mention is most of the super expensive items are really shit.... i would rather wear a light kuyak and some heavy gloves anyday then some heavy plate armor because of the weight penalties..

Same with ponies.. A destrier vs a plated charger... everyone knows a plated charger is the worst horse next to the sumpter horse... yet it cost a fortune..

I've never played a server where people split up as much or as often as on EU1.  No wonder range is having a field day.

It is not that much luck. In the long run everyone has the same chance to get a repair bill.

Take my horse and you do not think the same thing after that..

And take my heavy lance, which was nerfed as hell but still in the top third of the most expensive polearms..

Aren't horses and ranged weapons supposed to be paid more often anyway? That's also a way to limit the amount of "unwanted" calsses on the battlefield.
Players QQ about many Ranged/Cavalry but they would never cry about many infantry players.

I actually never lost any serious amount of gold whenever playing as Archer, plated infantry or heavy cavalry. I would get broke with a Plated Charger of course but anything below and including Large Warhorse was always alright for me.

In this generation, I lost between 200k and 300k gold in playing light cav.

Sure it regulates the number of cav, but it is totally stupid to those who want a dedicated char.
In addition, with the number of classes that can now counter the cavalry, there is no need to regulate her with the price.

Style of plate and style of heavy horses is what would make them overpopular which would lead to perma-plated-rodeo. Plate is just too cool-looking.

I know, I hate fighting in plate because I'm slow as fuck and ez2gank (lol). I would still use plate anyway.

Maybe after some time plate would become less of an exotic thing in crpg and it would slowly go back to minmax again, but I guess the beginning of no-upkeep era would be filled with tincans.

Im playing with a total of 3.1k upkeep gear and i barely ever lose money with it. Got plate armour, good helmet which are sort of costy.
