i was fighting against the police since saturday night with thousands of people from different parts of the turkish community. there are footbal fanatics, leftist fractions, liberal kemalists, kurdish people, gays and transsexuals, people only want to watch porn freely, unemployed people, environmentalists... this is not about some park anymore. its about people standing up for their dignity. since erdogan came to power in the beginning of the 2000s, he systematically divided ppl, alianized the ones whom he thinks marginal and intervene our lifestyles anytime he pleased. this guy thinks himself as a prophet and his job is to make turkey more conservative, enslaved.
this is why ppl stood up right now. it all started when police used excessive force on peacefull protesters on gezi park. there were no radical groups taking part in those protests back then. they used tear gas on regular ppl who only wants to save that little piece of nature. they want to build a giant shopping center to that area. not some government project for a new park. and we have like 20-30 giant shopping centers in istanbul already. we dont need this shit.
so after police beat and arrest ppl for this peacefull protest, people from all over the country started to make protest in their homecities. biggest protests taking part in istanbul, ankara, izmir and adana. its peacefull until its dark. after that real protests starts. police keeps using excessive force, shooting ppl directly with tear gas weapons. torturing ppl in custody and handing them over to the ak party supporters for a beat up. but we are standing and will keep standing until we get rid of this ruffian prime minister.
