Instead of an archer duel, can't you do an actual archer tournament?  Put up a target at different distances, and see who can get closest to the center?

This, and time it. The best shots under the clock win.

My old native clan used a mod where the accuracy of the shot on each target was factored by distance to the center, and then added to the main score.

En Dotter, are you able to create a map like that ?

Like what? I already made one for archer trainings. But it doesnt have everything i suggested. I need less than a day to make functional map for this tournament.

Really good initiative guy's !

As much as i would like to join this i wont even though the money are calling :D
You have some good ideas and i would like to give a hand.

Take in consideration different aspects of archery.
  • Wpf, PD, ability to move, melee ability, skills/tricks in general.

Right now you seem only focusing on wpf and ability to hit and not how good would he do on a battlefield.
But as it is a competition i will give it to you that what you have initiated seems good.

I know what mod u are talking about but that wont do it. Its based on native warband and this is cRPG. So no point competing there, we are cRPG nerfed archer pros!

I would like some of the devs to come and answer this question then. On mega mechanics thread i found 10kg as limit. Is it outdated?

Yeah, i read it to so i made a armor set that weight just below 10 but when i discust it in the clan-ts multipel people (daveuk was one) told me it was around 6,6 and my feeling said the same (felt as if i was less accurate).

I think you need bigger targets if you want to be sure it isn't luck, trust me, me and jtobiamse together with lennu and thomas could not hit those targets when we got far enough, 3 lines away from the end or something

We ran out of arrows and never tried the further targets since the game was how many distances can you complete with 24 arrows.  With a spotter telling you if you'd hit or not I think the further targets are perfectly possible.  The problem for us was that we kept having to run closer to see if we'd hit and we'd therefore lose the use of our previous shots for reference.

I mean with the calculation (head 2x, hands 4x, feet 2x, body 1x)( if that is what you mean with effective)
