Your Opinions on Ubisoft?

Past ubisoft policy has been pretty shitty, however they've got some good IP's and no-one can question that.

Recently stuff like blood dragon has encouraged me, and their attitude towards PC gamers seems to have improved, probably because their pockets are suffering.

Last summer I bought HOMMVI in the steam sales. First took few days to get to play it due to Uplay not working.

And when I finally could play there was a major bug that made scrolling the map impossible after a few minutes of playing, I read that other players had the same issue. Really they had had over half a year to fix bugs and still there was a common bug that made playing nearly impossible. Not maybe the publishers fault, but they could concentrate first on major bugs and not for releasing expansions (who even buys them for unplayable game lol). Quite an arrogant attitude. Haven't played it since, don't know about how much other bugs there are, because testing it was impossible and not really interested anymore.

Alot of their good/best releases have been console based games.

Very little of what they've released has been PC based. It's just so bad that so many good series get butchered cause of their publisher and it's failures.

MMH VI should be an excellent game, but if problems like this persist(and someone mentioned it up above that the game was broken 1 year ago!) shouldn't you start looking at the publisher too? There's only so much you can pin on development team. If, even after a year a game STILL breaks, there's things up there that the publisher is causing too.

Its not the code. Crap like DRM for instance is usually publishers own fault. I agree with Casimir thou. In the past they sucked so much harder than they suck now. Once they were in the same shitpuddle with EA. They have partially climed out of there. They are the biggest bitchers about pirating. Blaming it entirely, when their sales aint going as well as they hope. Than they keep putting their piece of shit DRM everywhere, not still catching a clue that their DRMbullcrap is acctually a way bigger pain in the ass to their actual costumers than crackers. Also I dont get this useless Uplaythingy. Origin and Uplay are fucking pointless. Steam works fine. "Il add you in Origin/Uplay" - Said noone ever.

Ubisoft screwed up Blue Byte since 2001. Therefore Settlers IV was the last real Settlers... :/

I'd have to say II, either way, the Settlers franchise is forever ruined...

In no time nor space is anything worse than GFWL. uPlay at least works.

Many would say II, but looking at how the game is played, it would include IV plus IV is the last Settlers without Ubisoft.

Probably.

The Video Game industry is the ONLY one with a no return policy. If there was a return policy and these companies had to start eating their money like regular industry did for messed up, shit games, you'd see the whole industry turn around.

And In reality, it's just PC games that suffer the no return policy.  Consoles have companies that act just like regular companies do and do returns and resales.(which is why xbox wants to go all digital and remove the ability to resale games. Fuking Money grubbing CEOs)
