Sorry to hear about violence in Turkey, but I think many could not care less about political unrest in other countries than their own or possibly neighbouring countries.

Anyway, 1st of May for me is a day I get to relax, BBQ with friends, generally feel good about the coming Spring (in Sweden it's a big, big deal) and kiss some girls later at night after getting buzzed.

Saw some demonstrations today, though.

Before you say anything, yes I know I'm privileged and live in a beautiful country with decent government and social welfare etc etc, never complained.
