Isn't worst the thing Germans like so much on their bread or together with Sauerkraut? I think they even have a meal that's called "Curryworst". Also, I think it's a past tense of "to be", like in the sentence "Worst du scho mol in Münschn?", which means "Have you ever been to Munich?". And I also believe it's a German first name, like their most famous politician who's called "Worst Schlämmer".
All in all I think "worst" is a word of German origin.
