These are the current shields with 0 requirement.
Maybe it's just me but I feel kind of restricted with just having 5(2) shields to choose from.

I don't see how a few more shields that are easy to break would unbalance the game.
Below are all of the shields with requirement 1. What about lowering it to 0?

He meant shieldskill requierment, not slots. And yes, having a board shield would be a nice way of blocking at least a few arrows :D

It would be nice to have at least a really weak board shield be 0 slots. Just something that might catch a few arrows or bolts. Would give an advantage to smart low level players and provide a cheap anti-ranged defense team solution in strategus battles.

I'd say just the first two, if any. The leather bound one actually has quite good body armor for a low tier shield. Almost every build can already afford to lose 1 skill point somewhere else to use these, and making them all 0 skill would get rid of every single 1 skill shield. It's kind of a cop out solution to people not wanting to lose 1 IF or WM.

Same with all the stats bows ,throwing and shields.
Should be able to pick up any of these items without skillpoint.. only you would be extremely slow/inaccurate/less dmg without any skillpoints.

Horses on the other hand should require atleast a minimum of skillpoints, but one you got the minimum you could mount any horse.
But be slower/less manuverable/lesser bumpdmg and so on with the highend horses.

 Hmm it wouldnt be good idea in my opinion. Then why not also have difficulty 0 horses :P

 Put one skill point for shield skill... Problem solved :D

If you got rid of the 2 riding requirement on sumpter horses, people still wouldn't use them. Well, maybe in strategus to troll the army owner by wasting cargo horses.

I think everyone would use them then. It is quicker than moving on foot if you're not an extreme agi stack.
