Not sure if I am gravely ruining whatever this thread is, but in one The Walking Dead episode they are mass beating a zombie to death and one of the hits makes what really sounds like a Warband block sound. I wondered if anyone else heard.

Not that respective occurrence, but sounds are often shared among many media. I think there are a few commercial sound libraries that are well used. One of the most popular media sounds is monkey chatter. There are like three of them that are in almost every film and game dealing with monkeys. The first time I heard them was in System Shock 2, and I notice them in every film and game I've been playing since then. Another very ubiquitous sound is a sort of metal crash/creak, which occurs in almost every science fiction film/game that deals with space ships.
