In theory one of your factions could attack and seize an undefended village, transfer it to another, smaller faction and there would be no way for anyone to retaliate without triggering your alliance.

There's only one protector member. Rice Eaters. And if we for some random reason would all want to declare war on a clan (which is very unlikely), we would just do so without going through all the trouble of switching villages.
