Chris, in a way you're speaking my language: With every game community in which I've ever become involved, I've fallen into the same trap - after a while, I got comfortable, and started trying to "correct" the immature behavior of my fellow gamers. I can tell you from personal experience - it doesn't work.
I don't know you, and it seems you might be barking this stuff with a selfish/unreasonable motive, but I can tell you this much - even if you are completely sincere, don't bother. You can't win. You can't convince immature morons to grow up. You can't teach integrity, humility and empathy over the internet. And hell, you might be proof of that. All the same, drop it, friend. Put your efforts into something fruitful.
EDIT: I hope that didn't come off as callous or harsh. Seriously, I'm just trying to share my experiences, and possibly save you (and anyone you might launch into a caffeine-fueled spaz attack) the time and energy.
