Yeah, things are rough all over. I have it on good authority that there is a secret bunker at Valve headquarters, where the evil masterminds of the land weave their plots against unwitting players.
This is really just the latest in their long list of malicious machinations.
I imagine the conversation went something like this:
"How shall we fuck with the players today?"
"Let's make it look like the servers go down a second and everyone gets disconnected, then hit them with... wait for it... a loss. It's almost as if it was a bug or something and that match getting marked as a loss would be an understandable glitch in the system, considering the unusual ending of the match that doesn't fall under the normal parameters of our win/loss system, but no! No. They will forever feel the shame of the loss. Now, you might ask, what is the big deal, seeing as it's not actually tied to anything other than an inconsequential W/L ratio, and it's only one loss. Well, grasshopper, you have much to learn about the christos of our age. And the best part about this plot is that only the smartest and most observant of our players will notice it. Others will no doubt be reasonable and not throw a bitch fit over it."
"Your genius knows no bounds."
And that's all she wrote.
