My cRPG hero is cmpxchg8b. There are few players who can make a difference but no one besides cmp managed to kill the whole mod. That takes some serious skills.

I guess my real hero would be any PUB who keeps at it. Who, knowing they stand no chance against some heavy 2h baddie, charges at them with their silly gear, their non min-max build, and is decimated. Then the next round they try all over again.

Until the game breaks them, and they conform or are never seen again.

I'll never forget one of my first matches where I was using the boar spear, and a bunch of people openly mocked me for it. I regret these silly choices today, but in a way I'm grateful, because it made me a better player today.

I can really only remember one guy really impressing me when I started playing, hehe, it was Gnjus. I saw him winning a 1 vs 15 or something as a crossbowman/shielder and regarded him as an extremely good player for about a year, now I am unsure if Gnjus lost his magic, everyone else just got crazy good, or those 12 people were low level.

I don't really have any heroes that I tried to emulate or anything. In old cRPG high levels could make anyone seem good.
