Jatasgo's Weapon Implimation (Take a look)

Developers, I was wondering if you could try to add a weapon like a rapier or fencing foil like weapon into the game it would be a great and magnificent just give it a good speed rating and thrust rating it would be my kind of sword as I am rather young but I fence sometimes because my family is of Italian heritage. I know it may not go well with the age of the game but could you think about it I mean like fire and sword it is set shortly after warband and it has rapiers. Maybe you could do some research and if not I will do it just ask and I also know that the side sword is like a rapier but not completely and the speed and things are not set right as though it is not that good of a weapon.

Fuck it, add rapiers and give them their own fencing/thrusting animation to go with the sword.

I like that idea but as a modder implementing other fighting animations is almost nearly impossible and only someone skilled could code something like that.

I don't know if we have permissions to any of the fire and sword models.

If we do I would like to see the half armour implemented.

Proto-rapiers appeared in the 14th century. They could easily fit within the broad cRPG time frame. I believe in fire and sword the rapiers are simply called "sword". They operate in a similar way to the rondel dagger does in cRPG except of course for the ability to block and solid reach.

I was thinking the same thing about the half cuirass armor that should be added as well good quote I was afraid of saying in public as people would start saying it looks queer or it doesn't fit the age

I also think of it as some kind of long rondel dagger. Good speed, good pierce damage. Not sure if a slash would deal blunt or cut damage but I would make the pierce damage rather high and the slash damage rather low to compensate for the speed.

This would be cool, but honestly, when I want to use a rapier-like weapon, I go for the sidesword!

Panos how bad are you at warband?


If you cannot deal with thrusts you seriously stink. Anyway why would it be lol thrust rapiers are 1 handed weapons and never really dealt massive damage. The Romans used to say "two inches in the right place...". The fact is the thin flexible blade of a rapier could never do real damage to a well armoured opponent unless it hit in gaps of the armour and the weapons in game low weight and ~28p should reflect this.

If it very low weight it will be stunned more often and bounce easily. However it should be long 110? and be fairly quick 98? delivering only 23cut on side swings. Loomed it should deal 30-31p and 99 speed a real gentlemans weapon.

This is dependent of course on the models if they can be borrowed from f&s or if they have to be made. My recollection is that the fire and sword rapiers are fairly short.

i support this, it would be like the opposite of a katana, very bad swing damage with very good thrust damage.
