I'd go 22nd to the 9th with a full pause.

That's 3 weeks for everybody to re-charge and relax.

Sadly, reverting it to a status quo is not possible after xmas.. it's either pause or nothing

Only 24th and 25th (christmas eve and christmas) and only Dec. 31st and jan 1st (new year's eve and new years).  All the other days are some of the best times of the year to be playing since for once people have off school and work.  Really don't see why non-holiday time off you would want to make strategus battle not happen when people can finally fully participate.

Remember battles lag 24 hours behind so Strat would need pausing 24 hours before you want the last battle.  Also don't forget Orthodox Xmas.

If you want multiple short pauses then you will have to do the following

Sunday 23rd: Pause at 11:00 CET (to let NA battles clear)
Wednesday 26th: Unpause at 11:00 CET
Saturday 30th: Pause at 11:00 CET
Monday 1st: Unpause at 11:00 CET
Saturday 5th: Pause at 11:00 CET
Tuesday 8th: Unpause at 11:00 CET

Seems a lot of messing about to me both for chadz and factions trying to keep people organised.  I'd prefer just a full pause.

Can't you just start using a gregarian calendar like the rest of the world has done for 500+ years (Ironic saying this as an American whose country still uses the imperial measurements)
