Impressed, but has anyone dared do the Long Voulge? xD Forget peasant stuff, that would be the craziest loom, such a bad weapon

I had a +3 long voulge before they trashed it.

I bought a Long Voulge after it was screwed. Didn't know it had no swing...

^It was maybe a little powerful pre nerf but now ouch it really sucks.


Would be great if at 33str side swings were unlocked

Bah, pre nerf it had 37c which is far from top of the line polearms, was even slower and unbalanced. It was too cheap for what it did though.

The nice thing is that it had enough length to be used to stop lancers well enough even with the no shield polearm malus to range, and of course, the length. You could outrange greatswords (except maybe on stab).

Plus, no other polearm looks as good as the old long voulge did

I love the light lance, swiss halberd, and english bill... but the long voulge just feels weak compared to other weapons. 18 pierce thrust at 85 speed is pretty much like using a -3 heavy lance on foot. But it's shorter too. The 40 cut overhead is literally your only useful action. Bring a backup weapon or get really really good at blocking

If you like the bamboo spear, see if you can borrow a +3 military fork. They are similarly fast, even cheaper, and only take 1 slot! You lose a lot of length, and I think they are too short to rear a horse. It's really funny to spam/combo slap a target with a 2 directional weapon though.

Bamboo is pretty much the only weapon I use nowadays. I mean, come on, 91 speed 200 length 28p....pls soooooo goooood. So underrated and cheap.

I have loomed Leather Armour (21 armour now), blue gambeson, scythe, long spiked mace, I had elders dagger, and MW stones, also MW arrows (now there a many of those but when I did it, I was only dude on server with 54 arrows, longbow and a elders dagger, was goodtimes to spam so many arrows). I used to have Maul aswell (the square wooden one) but I got rid of that back when the old 3 looms into 1 thing happend, ages ago, cause already I could not use it with my longbow and I was saddened.

I like the look, that's why i dedicated a whole build to trying to make it work... Just not worth it, against your typical smart opponent who'll facehug a polearm user your only viable attack is overhead and they know it. The number of times i'd accidentally thrust because not only are side swings disabled, but they automatically thrust if you try them by accident... The glancing...

Maybe i'll loom one and hope for the future...

We need to make a "free long voulge" megathread.

I mean sure, could heirloom a fauchard to have almost the same effect (more speed and not unbalanced, but not shieldbreaking) as the old long voulge, but it just looks bad..

This reminds me the first days of strat. Every faction got some kind a 2h like axe, two handed axe etc etc.... We, poor 1handers had to play with ruined cudgel in every fkin battle.

I used to love bamboo spear in native. It was so long and had swing. Would destroy people with that. That's why I miss when it had swings in crpg.
