I found the awkwardness of everything and the amount of micro management you have to do gets worst and worst, I couldn't enjoy it personally.

Hmm, I do think I was being a bit rash in this post, I can enjoy some aspects of it, I just find the micro management cumbersome if you become large and powerful.

We tried Guild 2 multiplayer with Casimir but we were having synchronizing problems. Played it singleplayer a lot though.
Well I roleplayed gay for long time to get Asca attention as harmless one but it didnt help. I only attracted Tueten, Cicero and Grey Order...

I got the Guild 2 Renaissance and I can't play for shit. My whole family dies of diseases when the first winter comes. Also, I have to attend to my workers all the time if I want them to do something productive, and I hate doing repetitive micromanagement like that. I feel like there are things I should learn about the game that would make it very enjoyable to play, could you help me ?

Pretty much this for me. I find it surprisingly difficult. I don't think I'm patient enough for all the micro management. Probably the same reason I suck at Crusader Kings.

I decided to give it another go just to see if I was being overly impatient when I played long ago, it was cheap as chips on Steam, about £5 at most ( The Guild 2: Renaissance is the only one you need ).

I do remember why I got pissed off with it, the plague is annoying and by the time my character gets it there doesn't seem to be medicine left anywhere half of the time lol. And yeah the micro-managing can get quite cumbersome, the AI controlling the mine I took over doesn't seem to be doing a great job either, completely random at times.

There is definitely alot that I forgot about that I did enjoy, like knocking off rivals who decide they want to fuck with me. Earlier someone decided to accuse me of something and had set a trial date, when I got around to checking who it was, I found them leaving town and walking down the road towards my mercanary fort, where 4 of my sword wielding mercanaries are collecting tolls in the area, didn't end so well for the snitch as she ended up laying unconcious on the floor, then took my main character over there to rob her, break her bones and then finally finish her off. Court case thrown out, no evidence :).

EDIT: Oh yeah I forgot to say, many bugs that pissed me off before have also been fixed, atleast with the 4.17 beta patch I got from the main website and I also installed the mega mod pack which seems to have improved many aspects ( it contains a bunch of zip files of which you choose what you want to use and just extract them to your game folder, after applying the 4.17 beta patch that is ).

Frankly Guild 2 was a badass game imo. But it was made by "JoWood" a german gamecompany that I despise with all heart and the day they went bankrupt I partied. Basically every "JoWood" game was exactly same idea. Good story, good char, good idea, but godawful execution. Thats why hate em... If they only sucked id just give em a pass. But every game was just so awesome that kept me playing for hours, while getting tormented by 500 bugs, googling for alot fixpatches and restarting from crashes and numerous freezes.

Guild 2 is acctually pretty easy in Single imo. Make 1 buisness. Build it to the max than spam craploads of mines and produce gems which you can sell. Than start doing other stuff, like making more buisnesses, titles, offices etc. Works every time...in single. 8-)

I too hate JoWood, I remember i had their game Soldner, which was pretty awesome online, the bugs aside that is. I didn't play it for a while at one point and when I came back to install it and play again my account was blocked and when I searched it up it seemed they had just tottally changed everything and for some reason blocked a ton of accounts, then sometime after that I'm pretty sure they just shut down the servers. I think they have some kind of free one out now though, but I'm still bitter about what happened before lol.

Guild 2: Renaissance seems to be one of those games where it's as easy as you want it to be, you can do as you mentioned the easy and simple ways, but that would get boring if you did that everytime, where would the fun be lol?. I think the game would definitely be more fun on multiplayer and more challenging but I can see it taking a very long time.

Just like playing Civ online, four to five hours passed and you don't even notice it...

This should happen again soon.
