I feel really let down by AV and  its not nessesarily because of changes to the gameplay/combat unlike most crying DF1 vets (I don't even mind the new character models).

But even ignoring all bugs/balance the game is only like 50% content complete. 6/16 schools, smaller map, less mobs, 4/6 racial areas, no ships, no siege weapons, no enchanting, no towers. Some of this stuff might be added soon but still its an absolute shell of a game which they actually planned to release already.

I'm not sure what their excuse is, they have about 5 times more staff and proper funding this time around albeit less time. And after 3 years their remake is a shinier, but smaller game with half the content? Its not all bad there are some really cool things/ideas in UW, it still has potential to be "best game evar" but that feels years away right now.

There is a big bug they're trying to squash atm, so I would give them the benefit of the doubt until that is done. AV take things slowly, they might have a bunch of stuff to add. In the original game launch people were wondering why there were only Golbins, and then not long after release we got tons of new mobs

I don't even want to play until they fix that big bug though, I don't want to spoil it

Jesus patch any good?

Still feels like playing with delay to me, very clunky/sluggish, on top of that still getting random short freezes. They did fix some major problems, mostly persistance, which is great. But until they turn that imaginary "debug" mode they keep blaming all the shit on, I'm not expecting much.

And it seems the game is still a massive grind and extremely friendly to macroing.

Started playing this again.

Basically they totally utterly killed any AFK skilling other than resource gathering and crafting.

All skills/stats are put up with prowess.

They put in a salvage system where you can salvage items for resources.

The game runs incredibly more smooth than when beta first started.  The world map has fog of war so you have to explore to find stuff.

I have been playing the last few days and I have been enjoying it immensely.

They indeed have made a huge huge step towards the game being good with the new Prowess System. I'm not playing much though, it's useless grinding in a beta.

I still wonder how long it'll take to grind those stats up to a competitive level. Weapon skill leveling is fast - but the gains you get from weapon skills are negligible, upping attributes on the other hand is quite costly. Hope it isn't a huge grind.

I also put some time in for the new system, its completely different to darkfall 1 but works very well I think. game still needs content and combat overhaul badly. there no skill in the game atm, its mostly just gear based like some other my old friendgy mmo, not like darkfall 1.

In a bold move aventurine has announced unholy wars will be released in less than 2 weeks. The NDA hasn't been lifted yet, but this thing isn't nearly content complete yet. They are strangely going to fix wobble a week before release but there are other issues besides incompletion.

So i'm fairly sure darkfall 2 will go the way of darkfall 1, I highly doubt the population will last long post release. So my advice ironically is to buy this non-complete game because it will be most fun at release, and once the EU server population dwindles it just wont be fun anymore. And you'll never get that true darkfall experience again.

April 16th launch lmfao

Let me recap what DFUW is right now:
- Too slow paced to feel as fun as Quake 3
- Way too horrible melee mechanics to feel like Warband
- PvE grind mobs 24/7 to progress
- Incomplete (little content)
- Unoptimized
- Unbalanced classes

So basically we have a rushed game with delusional devs that tries to be two successful and fun games at the same time but fails at it, hard. There is absolutely no way your average player will keep playing this beyond the free month. I expect AV to admit they suck at this and just let the game go F2P in a few months.

I can see how they screwed up all the settings, but what I don't get is how it has less content than df1, 2 years later.
