damage and technique.

Something is wrong with cRPG.

A good player or one who has learnt how can deal more damage than another player who has focused on different technical elements or is not as skilled even if they have more powerstrike and damage.

This might sound a little stupid but these head shots and subtle speed bonus' make the game impossible for new players.

This does not happen anywhere near as often in native as in cRPG and I don't like it. I have done some tests and kadeth can kill my 24str 3IF char in 2 hits in medium armour he is using a nordic war sword. It takes me three hits to kill him with a glaive (he has 21str). This is down to his superior footwork as he is probably the best in the world atm.

Tell me that this is fair for new players who cannot put out the same amount of successful hits, do the same damage even when they do hit and have inferior equipment.

I do not mind these guys getting some extra damage on every hit but getting an extra ~30% damage is too much imho. It is also far more predictable in native.

I would like to point out that I am by no means a new player but I focused more on getting hits and hold-bonus hits (pausing) than devastating spin hits.

This is mainly due to c-RPG being at a slower playing speed and vastly easier to hit the sweet spots for holding your weapon for maximum damage, and positioning for proper strikes at the tip of your swing, etc, where as in a much faster native server this is all very difficult to pull off at once as the situation is changing faster.
I'm not normal and I don't pretend so, my approach is pretty much a bomb crescendo.
Death is a fun way to pass the time though, several little bullets moving in staccato.
The terror of my reign will live on in infamy, singing when they die like a dead man's symphony.

isnt a game in which the actual skill is rewarded instead of the gear and stats superior to the contrary concept?  seriously,  its one of the things that makes crpg great.

What are you suggesting should be changed exactly? I think speed bonus % should be visible, myself. There's a bunch of other hidden variables, but I think speed bonus is the most important and helpful in understanding footwork (and how it correlates to damage given/taken). New players have to scourge the forums to understand most of the jargon and other things considered common knowledge.

Took me a few months to know what chambering was since searching never really helped.

I could kick(violate) your anus with a club little mate (smoothrich).

I would just like to see weapon damage reined in a bit and relate more to stats and techniques meant to increase damage rather than ones that just makes your attacks quicker. I dont think you should be able to attack faster and do more damage without wpf.

Or as someone said increase game speed a little bit.

Of course this game is hard for new players, can't change that without destroying the game.

Owens, you said you faced one of the best footwork players out there. What does footwork do?
-It increases damage as it adds to your speed bonus when you strike
-It decreases damage taken by going in the direction of the swing or placing yourself in a position where full damage cannot
be done (ie beginning or end of the swing)

That already changes a lot about damage.

Now add to that the location damage (head, foot, body). You get other variables, with head hit having a +20 percent bonus damage.

Now add to that the random damage variable which you cant do anything about.

By now, you should see that your results are pretty normal.

I started on crpg without any multiplayer training. I did not know how to block, feint, and use footwork. I took the time to learn it.
Warband is not an easy game, and crpg mod is probably even harder. But the only difference between new players and veterans are
looms and mostly experience. There is no hard-coded damage difference.

^I know i just dislike the concept of experienced players myself included dropping new players in a 1 or 2 hits and being able to receive many many more.

Maybe i am biased because cRPg aus is dead and native thrives.

"This is down to his superior footwork as he is probably the best in the world atm"

Uwotm8

On topic: first month i played crpg - i skipped native after a few days, was purely me getting killed by everone and everything, thus i learned how to block. After that i learned how to hold swings(im still not very good at it) and feint. If you don't want to put time in it and be willing to learn through blood sweat & tears, this isn't the game for you - back to CoD m8.

Tl;dr: learn, rage & improve and remember that you will never be the best, there are some crazy skilled people around & some turds who abuse things.
I loot corpses of their golden teeth.
But he'll be around somewhere between Heaven and The Devil, because neither of them will take him in, and he'll be farting loudly and singing a filthy song.

i'll be there at around

Like I told in the other thread, I don't need to post if Torben posts ^^. Same thoughts.
