Strategus Map Feedback

Making this thread so people can post in it telling Jacko or others whats wrong with the current Strategus maps so he can fix them and knows what to do before going into them.

Where the attackers spawn I do believe if you're looking at the fief the far right hand flag is behind a 1 way wall, not able to down the flag. Tested this, just have to move the spawn forward a bit.

Mountains far to steep, suggestion would be to make make them not as steep. Fucks up siege towers and renders them useless making them spawn it ridiculous angles and defying physics. Unable to move them most of the time. Wooden walls are also unkillable to my understanding.

Not every castle has to be compatible with siege towers, some diversity is always good. Mountains in some maps are ok, especially if the castle has wooden walls (super easy to breach).

Good stuff.

Make sure you take pictures or use a link and describe what you mean. You can always open up the scene editor and find the right scene and take better pictures, or hell just start editing them.

Wooden walls are currently bugged are they not? This would make sense if you plan on fixing them soon.

I fixed the bugged spawns at Dirigh Aban located behind the map edge/invisible wall. Moved all the flags forward slightly.

Canary, can you fix the glitched walls in certain maps?  There's a castle that's been fought at a million times in the VE/OCC war, where that wall breaks but it shows it being still there.  Either team can go through it, but it appears to still be there.  Also the broken wall at Malayurg, or is that past your skill set?

Unfortunately that's an issue with the coding of the scene object's mesh itself I think, which is something that has to be changed independently of map edit mode. That dang ol' sandy yellow wall, right?

Last time I heard anything about it, the person who made all the meshes for broken walls was Meow. The reason wooden walls were/(still are?) immune to catapults was because they didn't have finished broken models implemented.


If there are maps with spots you can get stuck in, or glitch spots that cause rubberbanding due to a buggy scene object, or solid objects you can walk through or anything like that I can take a look, though.

Dhirim - the invisible walls were poorly drawn so that you can ladder up over one arch along the path to the inner keep but not the second one as attackers, yet defenders cans till ladder up to the arch to shoot.  It creates a series of near unbreakable chokepoints since there are invisible walls all along both sides of a narrow path through the city.  The invisible wall over the arches need to be removed - the sides are enough.

While we are at it the invisible walls in attackers spawns are in front of the siege shields instead of behind them.  Also, the inner keep defense was poorly designed with multiple rooms with one doorway making it next to impossible to do anything once attackers get inside as along as you have shields blocking the doorway.  A partial fix for that is to have ladder access above, instead of an unbreakable wooden archer's nest.
