I turned off all sounds long time ago.
Now I have audiobooks or music on in the background instead,much more rewarding than the infernal shouting and metalclanging.
You lose out abit not hearing the cav comming, blocking clanks not that much of a problem ,playing archer.
I use the visual stagger as indicator of hit/miss, works out ok.

Just go to the piratebay and look at the audiobooksection, tons of great material, just skip all the selfimprovment bs and getrichquick schemes.

I like to listen to pandora. Johnny Cash station, if I run out of skips then my Mat Kearney station, finally relying on my main light rock station which plays a lot of different artists. No rap or country, eminem doesn't count.

I listen to random stuff. Sometimes I don't have sound on at all, other times I'll just pay attention to the game. Then at other times I just don't care and want music on. Johnny cash would be one of them. I use slacker though.

Mainly Johnny Cash, but it solely depends on the mood im in. It has been known for me to listen to Billy Ray Cyrus whilst on the server....my k/d was appaling but meh who cares
