So why does light armor have -1 armor when loomed? =O
Yes the name is different with loomed light armor but still. I think they should've the same bonuses when loomed, but then again I think it's fine now.

Your thoughts?

There were several discussions about that before.

Also don't forget that there is a reason why you choose light armor. Weight and upkeep, you don't even want that amount of armor. I've read that it also was +5 Armor before. :P

Its part of a conspiracy to punish archers that need to stay below 10 in weight.
Many small cuts kills you in the end....

26 + 4 = 15.4% bonus
43 + 5 = 11.6% bonus
53 + 5 = 9.4% bonus

Think thats why.

And for realism, its easier to improve a mail with to give more protection, making something out of a weaker material is harder to reinforce :P (a dress can only provide so much protection without adding weight)

But the bonus of additional armor protection is what counts and not the additional percentage so I think you shouldn't decrease the bonus down to +3 for armors with 30 protection for example.

This.

35 vs 34 armor, really doesn't matter. It's still a lot less than 55-70 which average footmen body armor.

Let's see..loomed light armor + loomed leather gloves + say 8IF and I'm sure people will be saying 'wtf how come this 'light armor' guy is so tough'. Then more cries for nerfs no doubt. I would be happy if ALL gear just had a simple +3 max after the third loom. This would eliminate much endless whining over looms and their 'fairness'.

39 body armor

With 75 HP average joe will need 4-5 hits max, I guess. But compared to Lordly Light Kuyak + Lordly Heavy Gauntlets which is 62 body armor, that's nothing.

With 5 ATH, Kuyak fellow won't be two times slower (barely noticeable actually) than light armored guy but it will take at least double maximum amount of hits to put him down.

Yeah good point! BUFF MY PLATE!

I'm totally appalled but I agree with Leshama. As a plate crutching str noob it's pretty apparent that agi is still in need of some work. I don't really think str/armour nubs should be punished to be inline with agi blah blah blah just buff it in a different/interesting way.

The armours are balanced based on weight and cost. You effectively get free stats on gear, if it were +5 it would be +19% free stats for no additional cost or weight.

The way damage is calculated armour is only 50% to 100% of its value at any given time. You can wear 40 armour and take damage like its 20-40, wear 60 and its 30-60. But you always get the manoeuvrability and damage bonus from additional speed so it always has 100% of its weight value, plus you save money. The lower weight is what you loom armour for really, free armour for no additional weight or cost. It might only be 1 armour point, but I guess its an attempt to keep it more balanced

Light armor isn't unbalanced, medium armor is.

Light armor is in same situation as plate. While light armor shines with high agi builds, plate works best with high str builds.

Medium armors works exceptionally good with both type of builds and that's why everyone wears medium armor.

Why is medium armor unbalanced then?

Because the devs want to encourage medium armor use the most, not light ninjas or tincans.
