15th century katana is superior to 15th century longsword. Did anyone see the show Deadliest warrior? There was an episode Samurai vs Viking, and a katana cuts through 3 pigs bodies in 1 strike.

Anyway, watch this video, the modern katana chop wood like an ax.

I'm convinced, this guy is a troll. :D

Nobody uses Deadliest Warrior as a reference for historical accuracy, even less support for an argument.

I'm not going to get into the katana vs longsword arguement but what I will say is this:

17 pierce damage stab at masterwork is retarded.

The studded warclub at masterwork does 18 blunt damage. Since blunt and pierce are almost identical, that means that a wooden club can stab better than a folded steel katana.

I think it's all to keep the game balanced. I think if a player plays enough with one or the other, they will find it's really preference.

A starving peasant wielding a pitchfork stopping an armored horse at full charge is absolutely ridiculous as well. The peasant doesn't even have enough strength to pick up a 1 kilogram sword. Still, it all makes for a better game.

Similarly, the katana having a weak spot is good for variety in the game.

The skill and discipline of a samurai is better than any warrior on earth. Samurai one on one versus any medieval warrior would win

I love how the guy is swinging the Longsword as if it was a Katana, totally ignoring the fact that Longsword is infact, much longer and decide to still hit near the hilt with the quite possibly unsharpened edge of the sword.

The fact that his longsword stab bent like that also means that he has an absolute shitty form and it just so happens that the shorter Katana leaves more space for shitty form before it bends since it's much shorter.
