Actually 25,00025x10^3 since it is much simplier to change units that way, like kilos (10^3), megas (10^3 kilos), gigas (10^3 megas) etc.

Because that is not scientific notation (the first one), and 25,25k would be 25.250, not 25.000,25

The thing is that that is not in the normalised notation in scientific notation. It is still correct though.
