I'm pretty sure this thread would have caught on faster if you didn't include your movie filter.
It would. but then I would have a lot of recommendations that I dont need/want. Sorry to limit the choice of recommendable movies, but this is for me, not in general. ;)
Old boy
Played with the thought of watching it. But it somehow never caught my interest.
Ironclad
Nice recommendation. I liked that one, too. But I've seen it already. Maybe I will watch it again... - If you haven't already, you could check out "Kingdom of Heavens".
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - Dark, witty, and suspenseful throughout.
Limitless - Light but well done action and enthralling themes on intelligence.
The Prestige - Detailed characters, brilliant acting, goes out with a bang.
Pans Labyrinth - Adventurous, fairy tale like qualities, but captures them very well and maturely.
Memento - Thought provoking and interesting first person narrative.
I also recommend checking out some anime movies like Howl's Moving Castle, and Spirited Away; they're beautifully done.
Limitless is a good movie. - Already seen. About the other four movies I gotta think/see. Thanks.
To the anime: I liked "Princess Mononoke", but those kinds of anime are somehow too weird for me. I like stuff like "Ghost in the Shell" or "Plastic Little" more. (Means: Stories where no little kids are getting drawn into some weird dreamworlds.) ;)
The Man From Nowhere - Foreign film. The cinematography and plot is gripping, excellent, and exciting. The writing's corny inone or two scenes but that's probably due to translations.
Battle Royale - Another Foreign film. Pretty violent and nutty.
"The man from Nowhere" does seem interesting. [EDIT: Found out I already saw it.
But yah, its good.) I saw both parts of "Battle Royale" already. The first one is better, since the story is original. But the second one is worth a watch, too.
God Bless America, fucking epic movie. A guy and a chick are killing dumb Americans for FUN. Only the knife scene is bloody, so don't worry, no more serious gore afterwards.

Try "Ides of March". Hope you like Clooney...
No Problems with Mr. Nespresso.
Thanks so far. Didn't think to get that much useful recommendations.
