Odin, Vibe and beer!
Thanks for your fruitful attention!
I'm a bit wasted atm.. but felt like bluntly summing up why cRPG is a tad lame atm.. At least it's not all it could be.
Guys, the Katana is the Katana. If I would want to buff it, I would write so. This is not about me or Ninjas..
But.. Don't you find it strangely boring that everyone are using a handful of the same long 2h/pole weapons? Often combined with the same armors and the same builds? Don't you want variety in the game?
The preference for long weapons is not at all just for cav. Most melee encounters consist of two groups carefully trading blows with eachother as no one wants to get stuck in the middle of the other group. Long weapons are so much better for that because you can deal damage to the other group without having to risk getting ganked. Apart from that it is just very nice to be able to outrange your enemy, means you can play by your rules while he has to get close.
No shit.. But the long ass weapons are also very duelable. This bias towards long weapons stems from Paul which balances weapons in a duel situation for a battle game.
He's too damn stubborn to realize his mistake. Long, heavy, damage dishing weapons needs to
trade speed for their length and weight. It's mere physics. If you would want to be fast and agile and duel, grab a longsword.
What do you propose?
Many things.. but many good ideas from everyone in chadz thread on reinventing cav.
Yes it is, remember when you had 220 wpf and your katana had 104 if not 105 speed? And those were times when being decent at blocking meant being one of the top players. Now everyone can block, while the game continously slows down further, which is the opposite of what is desirable.
105 speed katana and 220wpf was crazy op..
Very spammable!
Thing is, I don't think the game has become so much slower. Perhaps a little, but you can still be very very fast if you are willing to sacrifice armor, your GS/Long pole and STR for it. Thing is this is very hard to use in battle because of many reasons..
Isn't this a consequence of fix a and b and not a fix in itself?
Well. yeah. I'm a bit wasted.
I think ranged will decrease as soon as it is less cav and GS bitches around. It's not a lie to say many play ranged because they are less than average infantry players..
