Yeah, i am a lazy person, can barely be arsed to change my background picture every few months. Used to spend a lot of time and effort into customizing my desktop/appearance some years ago. Haven't done that since i got W7, this thing is so comfortable to use, it just encourages laziness.

(i made the screenshot smaller. its usually 1920x1080 resolution, but now its not so easy to see the filenames. :D)

You could try KDE4 for windows, there you can open folders in your workspace by hovering over them. Looks like this then: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19HNN8ULv7U&t=295
