anyone saw the video of the guy breaking the NDA and teamkilling all the way in the warpgate ? that was hilarous and scary at the same moment. There will sure be people like him going crazy , doing bundle of sticksry with other clanmates and don't know what to really planetside 2 works , but ye , it's the price of the f2p games :)

they already announced it, and this is just a final confirmation of the date.  Also twitter is how the devs communicate most of the info to the community.
