Well, tbh, Im FOR this, as a realism update, but also we need MORE realism updates, like removing blocking from greatswords, pikes, longspears, great axes, making poleaxes wiff and fail at close ranges, giving arrows knockdown, increasing the reload time of crossbows about 10fold, banning all horse crossbowmen toons, making crossbows about 1/10th as accurate, make using a crossbow in the rain, or going into water with it, DESTROY it forever, removing forcefields from shields completely now matter how much shieldskill you stack, buffing stab damage on all 1handers, making horses about A FUCKING MILLION times louder, blocking an axe or sword with a weapon with a wooden shaft should make your weapon take dmg and ultimately break, make horsebumps more powerful, nutsack kick should disable for longer....

O I dunno, just some realism stuff off the top of my head...

The OP is kinda silly tho, its just gonna make polespammers backpeddle more...

I wonder why there is no suggestion like archers in low armor getting killed by one sword swing, or most of the arrows not piercing the heaviest plate in the above post

we need MORE realism ... giving all horse crossbowmen toons windlass-cranked one-shot kill crossbows
Best ban reason ever:

I checked, the only Vagabond I found was Wolves_Vagabond_TheCruel, that guy is now unbanned. Ban reason was: "calling Zotte a cockswoggler".

lol Bruce, it's not possible to crank a windlass without a solid object to use as to hold the crossbow against, ie, the ground. So if horsecrossbowmen have to buy a special horse with some kinda massive pommel to use and pay stupidly high upkeep and thus are ruined and have to respec to something less twatish, great with me too.

As to one shot kill abilities, any crossbow you can crank by hand is not going to penetrating even leathers, soz mate.

Note that the OP routinely complains ingame about "exploiting polearm animations", whilst only ever playing as a buckler/1h player.
and do you exploit the polearm animation or not?

...

The OP is kinda silly tho, its just gonna make polespammers backpeddle more...
Most do it already so no huge changes here.

Already ingame.

Just get an actual shield if you're sick of getting your buckler torn to pieces. That's the price you pay for roleplaying.

Hmm, do they teach no reading germanyland anymore?.
The topic is nothing about bucklers or shield, but some kind of a fix for extra long weapons that can be swinged like mad in close quarters.
It is not that i can not beat them, but i have to work hard for it, while they can use the easy mode.

i have elbows as well.

balance wise, polearms have a higher reach and inflict more damage, oww and the polestagger.

anyway, have you even tried to bump an archer? You have to be really close, and really close means really really really close, or it does not work.

and 2h have the spead, the damage oh and that silly aniamtions what makes them mostly have an higher reach then many polearms

2 handed stab has its own sweet zone, but longer polearms will out reach it for sure, and short pole arms will win it with facehug stabbing
