I wish that instead of making extreme changes there would be more minor adjustments. More chisel and less sledgehammer.
Case in point, ladders, a problem on the battle servers but something that made siege mode really fun. They were completely removed from the game and now with the rest of the siege equipment removed, the game is still better than native but won't have that wild fun element that elevated it from just good to fucking awesome.
The best thing about siege equipment was that it let people be creative and added a non-combat team assisting jump puzzle element to the game. I've been playing a lot of the Napoleonic Wars dlc recently and people
louve digging trenches, playing music and loading cannons, it's gives them a chance to play an important role and they also give their team an advantage without even firing a shot. Setting up siege equipment in cRPG has some of the same appeal. I haven't played recently but was it so game breaking that it has to be completely removed?
I know that it's easier to make maps balanced at all hours of the day and population levels without the ladders and c-sites etc but that type of stuff is what makes cRPG
