Yeah, DX7 fixes this issue.

But should we play in DX7 because of it?

I like how the devs claim it's a "tactic" yet no one actually USES them as a tactic.

People either hate it because it effects their ability to play in some way, or people like it because it makes Warband look less like a pile of shit.

Slap yourself. Attacking while having the sun in the back is an old viable tactic. Why not in cRPG?

This is a game, not real life. You shouldn't be putting in "elements" or "tactics" that hinder some and not others, and if you do fix it so it works for everyone.

Not at all, I wish I could actually play with DX9 and everything maxed, my computer can handle it, it's just a shame that I turn blind whenever I do it because the Sun reflects even on swords with the force of the wrath of a thousand gods to destroy my eyes.

Or where night time is so dark that I'm going blind forcing my eyes to pick up glimmers of light in the dark hoping it's a sword and I blocked the right way.
