Not much point unless there's a major update...

This ^

Let people continue to futz around in Strat until there is some sort of serious update (or more likely, series of updates).  New interface?  New economy?  EU/NA back to being separate?

There's no good reason to reset it in the present condition.

Do what you want, we are not interfering. We just want to finish "operation desert shit storm" and watch development of the situation. By the way, there are many clans, much stronger than we are, and they also leave living space for others, so please don't perceive us as a tyrants. If developers don't do a new round, you still have the possibility to develop your faction, taking new locations, gathering experience, etc. We really don't want more villages. Of course, if we or our friends will be attacked, we will show claws. Just play the game. Good luck.

Resetting Strat without gameplay changes won't do anything.

A reset would be pointless as we would just see the same alliance carebear up again and dominate the game.  This is how you win Strat according to its current mechanics and so Greys/DRZ/etc would be stupid to break up a winning formula.

It could however be made a little more interesting with 1 very simple change; reduce the distance at which you gain the max goods bonus to just 60km.

As it stands there is only 1 trade route (North-West <> South-East) that is capable of generating 150 gold selling prices and there are only a limited number of fiefs useable with this route.  This means that only 1 power block at a time can gain these prices and that power block requires control of half the Strat map to secure the route.  The change above would mean that there is room for multiple power blocks, all gaining maximum goods prices.  Traders would still have to travel in order to get good prices and factions would still require diplomacy to secure their trade routes.  However the advantages of having a power block large enough to control half the Strat Map would be significantly diminished so that the smaller power blocks can stand on their own and have a good chance at actually surviving if attacked by a larger power block.

EDIT: Alternatively, reset and give every current Strat faction random starting fiefs according to their size and then see what happens.  It could be interesting to see what happens when factions are forced to do diplomacy according to their circumstances instead of being able to set their diplomacy before the Strat round even starts :D

When there is a major patch with changes I believe a reset should happen.
Not before that however.

+1 very interesting idea about the farway bonus, now it just encourages badly the carebearing approach.

And i agree with most of the others, reset now would be pointless, just leave this strat as it is until you have a more interesting version
