Having a decent kd relieves a burden from my heart when my team is hopelessly losing. Don't remove it please. At least when I have 4:1 kd in the losing team I know I wasn't doing the wrong thing. It's not a good indicator but it's better than nothing.

Its been suggested before (not sure if possible)  but ASSISTS could be a good compromise...

assists being one of the score stats may make some people less intent on killwhoring (even if it means hitting teamates to get that killing blow)
and will make more support classes recognized.  in siege, it would also show you that although someone is 45 and 4, if they have like 0 assists then they aren't fighting anywhere near anyone else and therefore probably not helping defend/capture the flag.....carebear?

if its possible to add assists in the scoreboard, id say why not?

Come on. Everybody likes getting kills and looking at the score: it's a deathmatch-style game.

This is a stupid idea. If you're bad, get better, and if you're unlucky, them's the breaks. The more you team-play, the better your K:D will be, because you'll have more opportunities to massacre your enemies; and if you chase peasants, you usually get stabbed in the back by non-idiots.

Also: Strength crutch.
