Boxing: A Discussion.

Most people find boxers a shit class that can't do anything. In addition, they are extremely week due to chambers only method of attacks.

But, I was wondering, if there was a way to convince people to let boxers play? I mean, Using a dagger is more or less the same, and you won't get kicked/banned for it, only because you "Have a weapon".

I've never played boxer myself, but i just woke up and thought it would be cool to see boxers. I know the few times i ran into them, they actually catch me off guard due to the very rare and different play style.

Do people think that boxing is legitimate enough to be a way to play?

take stones use it in alternative attack and you can now punch harder and technically still have a weapon.....you cant block though but I doubt thats a massive worry for someone with fists going up against a flam spammer

You bring nothing positive to any game server except making a nice easy target for cav and archers.

I play as a boxer with my Muhhamad Ali character. I get 1 kill a game, but its annoying to fight me. Athletics, some IF, and 9 PS, and being naked is fun.

Gauntlets for armor and damage. The key is alternating between spamming and jumping in and out of the enemy's weapon range.

It's very legitimate. I dive into crowds of baddies and annoy them, or pick one heavily armored baddie to pick on. Boxers are good at annoying people.

I've had a few skip the fun boxers in the past. It's actually surprisingly effective, considering that you're not using a weapon. Punches are fast and hard to read, so it's fairly easy to spam away and get multiple hits once you're in the pocket. On top of this, there are many players that don't wear helmets. You can knock them, and other weakened players, out in just a few punches. Also, as mentioned above, it takes many people by surprise.

High strength and heavy gauntlets means that you'll probably be fairly durable; since you're not carrying a weapon you can even wear chain mail and be pretty fast. It's definitely not the most effective class around, but I've gone positive a few times while doing it. It's fun, too. There's nothing like knocking some hapless archer out in one punch.
I too am not a bit tamed, I too am untranslatable,
I sound my barbaric YAWP over the roofs of the world.

I wear Heavy gauntlets on Brunchlady all the time for this very reason.

I have gotten 7 kills in a row in a round once punching people out. I have nearly 2:1 kdr with my fists, more like 1.8, but then again I strength crutch hardcore and have 12 PS on brunchlady and 2 athletics. In a dress that isn't that slow :D.

Boxing is legitimate if you carry a weapon. I carry my weapon and it protects me til I arrive on battlefield and encounter someone in low armor/helmetless.

with 12 PS and speed bonus, 1 or 2 punches solves every helmetless person that isn't also a strength crutching puutie

DEV NOTE:
Add A 2.5 or 3 weight glove that only provides 6 armor. Specifically made for boxers. Make it expensive though.
Thanks in advance, love <3 <3 <3

As an NA admin, I am the most laid back and concerned with the ~fun of the game~ above all other factors. I've also been super inactive since Summer 2012. University takes most of my time, but I still find some time to play when i can.

If they made boxers an at least LEGIT class, I would do play one.

How hard is it to add an expensive, very heavy, low armor glove anyway?

Edit: and make it damage all armor types.

Reach with stones is very minimal compared to the left/overhand with your fist.

Im sad to say that boxing is unfortunately efficient. Heavely armored boxers can beat down developing characters and light archers and stuff with little effort. It shoudln't be nearly as efficient as it is.

why the fuck not?

the more classes we can pick, the more chances are you will find one that you particularly like. Nothing bad with that.
