sword and board builds?!

so im sticking with this "class" not quite sure what build i preffer or would better suit me..

currently:

STR 21
AGI 15

IF 7
PS 7
Shield 5
ATH 5
WM 5

ive been running around in mail armor, with a hvy round shield, seems to be working well and been playing with different weapon options.

would any suggest another build, or is this a very solid one?

it's a good buildy if you tend to take a lot of hit (Ironflesh is here to be used!),  but if you a ''pro'' shielder who's almost never touched but cold ennemie metal I recommand

gear wise what should i aim for?

1-2x, medium armor. (Mail)

3-5x, heavier. 15lb max.

Keep an arsenal of 1h weapons for every situation.

yea ive been pretty content with mail for the most part, heavier im not much of a fan. ALOT of people always tell me to get like top gear helms, and boots arent a huge issue.

My build is pretty fun though it is aimed at level 32

18 str 18 agi

6 power strike
6 iron flesh
6 athletics
6 riding
5 shield
6 weapon master

all WPF in 1 hand making it a nice 157, very good cav and infantry build

i did pretty well as cav (lancer) but im still working on my blocking/footwork right now, mainly because it seems like i get outspammed by alot of people.

I prefer mail over heavy myself and sometimes keep the mail on higher multipliers. The movement speed is very important when fighting agi builds. It is all situational, that is the glory of a shielder.

well im still attempting to get better as s shielder, i dont to too bad at manual blocking, i just hate the amount of missile spam i get without it (half the reason i am a shielder).

i think currently im going with a very chinese-ish look, with a curved sword, lamellar and elite cav shield. i still feel like i get outspammed ALOT (i am level 30 too..)

Left swing is fastest. Right swing is slowest.

You have a small and weak shield, so you will be fast but cannot take many hits. If you react too slowly, get a bigger shield(heavy round+) so you have more time to predict your counter attack. Later on you can move back to the elite cav...though heavy round is amazing imo.

When in doubt, left swing.

im still trying to sort out the best mechanics for melee combat (in terms of holding down left and right, if i click, etc) since ive never been told or taught otherwise.

Just follow the trend and stab while spinning to abuse the speed bonus like the cool people do

ive been trying to sort out swings tho, like there always reaction speed, so do peoploe who sheild hold down both mouse buttons and then realease left right after right? or hows that work? thats what im mostly confused on..
