Greatsword or Polearms?

Polearms can hiltslash just fine in close combat. Yesterday, I got constantly hiltslashed by a hafted blade, while wearing +3 plate armor. Don't be afraid to take on the guys in big fat armor, it's pretty useless since Paul's glance nerf. Only dudes that glance on me are archers, and only if they have the shittiest weapons and strike at a bad angle.

Yeah, what Aleta said.  2H will usually do much better than polearms but are less versatile.

Victory is more important than the individual IMHO and you can learn to use a polearm to kill people, too.


My favorite part of polearm is that you can 1H/2H some of the lighter spears, if you have shield skill.  In strat battles, I will take the left/right most side of a shieldwall and end up rearing a lot of cav, while basically being invulnerable to arrows. 

(That said, a 2H user, or dedicated piker behind the lines will usually kill the actual rider.  But hey it's a support role.)

damn,i love 27/12 polearm build,using medium armor and glaive,with 9 ps,i kill most people in 2 hits,sometimes 3,and i have 7 ironflesh,so yeah,this build is for crazy clusterfucks,where you get hit by enemies and friendlies,but survivability is awesome
